Café Kitchen (Full-Time & Part-Time)


Please know the café is expected to open in late spring/early summer 2024

Our kitchen staff must be dedicated to delivering exceptional service, demonstrate care for their craft, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Our café kitchen staff will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of food items while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the BOH of the café.

Essential Functions

  • Prepare and serve a variety of food items to the established recipes and standards.
  • Operate kitchen equipment with precision and efficiency.
  • Engage with customers and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the café, including the preparation area, equipment, and dining areas daily and more frequently if needed
  • Restock supplies, ingredients, and merchandise as needed
  • Track items that need to be ordered and communicated in a timely manner
  • Follow safety and health regulations, including proper food handling and storage procedures.
  • Minimize spoilage and waste with consistent food portioning guidelines set by Cafe Manager
  • Set up and break down kitchen
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Support staff with running food to customers, bus tables, and dishwashing
  • Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned by management

  • Great communication skills with both employees and customers.
  • Open to constructive feedback and constantly striving to improve.
  • Ability to multi-task with ease in a fast-paced environment
  • Existing Idaho Food Handler Car or will obtain it within 30 days post-hire

Physical Demands

  • Stand and walk—must be able to stand for shifts and move about the cafe.
  • Perform repetitive motion with the hands, wrists and forearms to operate kitchen equipment.
  • Carry weight, lift – lift up to 5 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Full-time/Part-time positions
  • Tip earning position – starting wage is $16.00 per hour, based on experience
